World Juniors - Tuscon, Arizona

The sweltering heat in Arizona has proven a difficult element to conquer after one and a half days of compeition with divers competing in 38 degree temperatures over prolonged periods of time. After a slow start in yesterday's 1m event (22nd place), Gabe Armstrong-Scott bounced back to place 8th in the preliminary rounds of the Girls Group B platform and went two better in the Final with 6th place. Yi Lan won the Gold with a score of 405.90, silver to 15 year old Brittany Broben (Aust) 370.75 and in third Samantha Bromberg (USA) 336.55.
Ollie Armstrong-Scott finished 26th (441.70) in yesterday's Group A Boys 1m. Ollie dropped a dive, scoring 19.95 points. In such a competitive field, it was difficult to make up the points.
